How to Survive Jurassic Pixel
KOS culture, map-edge growth, and the matchups that keep a shop dinosaur alive.
Public Jurassic Pixel servers are hunting grounds. Fifty players, online only, no split-screen, no local co-op. Combat rules sit on How to Play. Buttons sit on Controls. The first spawn sits on Getting Started. This page is the habit layer: where you grow, when a pack is real, and why a private server is the DNA tool.
The game released 18 March 2025 on Roblox as a free experience by developers made of pocket change. DNA ticks about every 30 seconds. Death may wipe growth, so treat it as expensive. There are no working codes as of September 2026.
KOS culture and map-edge growth
Assume an unknown adult is hungry. Friendly emotes are bait. If you did not spawn with that player in voice, they are not your pack.
Grow at the map edge, not at the popular lake, not under a T-Rex silhouette. Gallimimus at run 63 can leave almost any baby-stage threat if you still have yellow stamina. Walk between plants. Sprint only to break line of sight. Drink on the lip of water, then leave. Do not stand mid-lake as 250 HP.
Velociraptor is the other free body. Same 250 HP, worse run (42), latch instead of kick-jump. Solo raptor at the edge can live on babies and leftover meat. Solo raptor inland is food. Nublar skins Blue, Delta, Charlie, and Echo do not add HP.
Half-grown bodies look adult in silhouette and baby on the sheet. Hide that window. Age 100 is when How to Grind DNA starts to matter. If the public is packed and you keep dying on spawn, leave. The DNA farm tier list assumes you are alive.
Raptor packs versus apexes
One Velociraptor does not beat an adult apex. Four raptors in voice can, if they latch together and leave together. Call the target before anyone jumps. A greedy 1v1 feeds the apex and advertises the fight to every third party.
What a pack should not latch:
- Adult Ankylosaurus (1,800 HP, 120 armor, beyblade tail, run 14). You bounce.
- Adult Brachiosaurus on a private farm server you were invited to. That wastes a 120-minute growth.
- A Spinosaurus that still has water behind it. Spino wants you in the drink.
What a pack can take: isolated mid-tiers, distracted adults already red on bleed, and babies that wandered inland. If the apex has friends, scatter through trees and regroup on voice. Do not chain-latch a lost fight.
Apex players should treat raptor packs as a stamina test. Face the group if you have a slam, charge, or tail spin. Walk into water if you are Spino. Kits live on the carnivore roster and herbivore roster. Ranked matchups live on the PvP tier list.
Water as Spino, Anky tail, Trike versus Theri
Water is Spinosaurus terrain. 2,200 HP, 270 damage, 25 armor, run 33, neck snap execute if the target is under 400 HP. Pull wounded animals in. Do not dry-land marathon a Gallimimus you will not catch. Deinosuchus is the other water bully (deathroll, shop cost blank). Mosasaurus was removed (was 10,000 DNA). If you are not Spino or Deinosuchus, drink and leave. Laptop swim-up drowning is covered on controls.
Ankylosaurus tail spin is how a slow herbivore survives a gank. 2,750 DNA, 1,800 HP, 260 damage, 120 armor, run 14. Pick a spot, let people come to you, spin when they commit. Do not chase. If public servers keep stacking on your farmer, Anky is the shield you buy before another glass carnivore.
Triceratops versus Therizinosaurus is the 3,000 DNA fork after the Giga and Theri drop (around 22 August 2025). Trike: 2,400 HP, 280 damage, 30 armor, run 25, charge, counters Theri. Theri: 1,500 HP, 250 damage, 5 armor, run 30, puncture around 1,000 at age 100, glass. Face the puncture. Do not show Trike flank. Do not stand Theri in the charge. Growing either one is a 60-minute snack until age 100.
Other short reads: Carnotaurus charge at run 39 punishes slow turns. Ceratosaurus chuff (hold-Space) jumps armor to 52. T-Rex slam at 360 damage is a commit. Giganotosaurus triple dash costs 0 stamina; shop cost is unlisted (community about 5,000, not official).
Third parties, private servers, and expensive deaths
The animal that wins the 1v1 and dies to the spectator wasted the life. If you are low after a duel, leave. Bleed (red bar) will finish what the third party started.
Limited hybrids steal leftover fights: Albino Terror camouflage and Pitch Black Reaper’s 3-second ghost invis at run 52. Learn those kits after the buy; the buy is How to Get Indominus. D-Rex has no confirmed price and is not a survival plan.
Private and tiny servers are for DNA. Adult Brachiosaurus with both DNA passes and the day-100 bonus can sit near 6,000 DNA an hour if it lives. Use public for PvP on an adult you can afford to lose. Use private when you are growing or ticking toward 7,000 or 300,000. You cannot gift DNA.
Chromebook: click No on the extra-buttons prompt. Mobile: hold eat or drink and drag off the button if you are parked.
Survive the first adult, then spend DNA from the guides hub and the players hub. Patch notes land under updates and in the Jurassic Pixel Discord. Keep dinosaurs by leaving early, growing at the edge, and treating unknown adults as hungry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where should I grow on a public server?
The map edge, not the popular lake. Drink on the shoreline and leave. Spawn order is in Getting Started; DNA clocks start after age 100 on How to Grind DNA.
Can a raptor pack kill an apex?
Yes if they latch together in voice. No if one raptor 1v1s. Avoid adult Ankylosaurus tail spin. Pack versus apex notes continue on carnivores and the PvP tier list.
Should I fight Therizinosaurus as Triceratops?
Face it and charge. Trike counters Theri; Theri is glass puncture. Patch context is Giga and Theri. Herbivore stats sit on herbivores.
When do I use a private server?
Whenever death would be expensive: growth, Brachio ticks, limited hybrid wallets. You cannot gift DNA. Restocks and official links are on the wiki page.
